Congratulations to Portville and Salamanca! It may be a record? Two state champions, not only for the same league but for the same divison, Division II! The Salamanca team and fans were there to cheer Portville on the victory and the Portville team with most of their fans were there for Salamanca. (this was special since it's 5 hours + back to Portville and snow for already falling back home) The Salamanca team was warming up on an empty court, they stopped to watch the end of the Portville match they were cheering and when Portville won the Salamanca players lined up to congratulate the Portville players. The same thing happend when Salamanca won. It was great to be there and to see everyone support both teams who were representing Section VI Girls Volleyball. Thanks to Debby from Frontier who convinced the officials to finally allow the Portville Team back on to court for group photos.

It was awesome to be there in Glens Falls to see these two great teams end their seasons and the seniors end their high school volleyball careers with state championships. For many of these young ladies the next time they meet they'll be rivals again as girls basketball season begins soon! Good luck to all!

Congrats to Western New York for winning 4 out of 5 state championships (and 1 match...2 points...shy of making it a clean sweep)! High school ladies vball is very much alive and well in this part of the state! Get out and watch a match in your neighborhood next season. You won't be disappointed.

It looks like Victor won and Eden lost to Hendrick-Hudson in 5 sets with the last set 27-25. Must have been a great match.

Heather looked okay last night. Didn't seem like it was slowing her down.

How is Heather Henry doing? Hope everything is going well for the team Eden. Looks like it is.
