Go to the Monroe County page and cast your vote on who you think is going to win the Large and Small school championships this year.

Last year only 29% of the voters got the large school champion (Webster) correct, while 54% got the small school champion (Sutherland) correct.

Here are my fearless predictions . . .
Large Schools:
First round - Athena to upset Hilton, Penfield over Rush.
Second round - Webster over Athena, Gates over Fairport in a close match, Arcadia over Penfield (if Lee Launhardt is able to play), Brockport over Churchville.
Semifinals - Webster over Gates, Brockport over Arcadia (although with a healthy Launhardt, Arcadia is an upset possibility).
Finals - Webster over Brockport in 4.

Small Schools:
First Round - Olympia to upset East Rochester, Spencerport over Odyssey.
Second Round - Brighton over Olympia (I think there is good possibility of an upset here, Olympia seems capable of playing good volleyball at times), Mendon over Eastridge in a tight 5 game match, Sutherland over Spencerport (another upset special possibility if Sutherland overlooks a pretty good Spencerport team), Irondequoit over Batavia.
Semifinals - Brighton over Mendon, Irondequoit over Sutherland.
Finals - Irondequoit or Brighton - pick one, this should be a great match (if both teams make it there).

Wow, 15 of 16 so far, I even impress myself I'm going to have to go with Irondequoit over Brighton in the small school finals.

Hey Scott, don't put words in my mouth. I do agree with most of Just Watching's picks (except I would have picked Olympia over Brighton ). I think the final is going to be a great match. Both teams are capable of playing very good volleyball. Yet both looked very vulnerable last night. I'm just going to be a impartial observer tomorrow. Good luck (and to maintain my neutrality - good luck the Irondequoit too)

That's ok Scott, I am the Mike that you are thinking of though. When you have coached players on both teams, you find yourself rooting for players, and not teams. Once the club season starts, it'll be easy to know who to root for. C-ya at Roberts tonight!
