The 2012 USA Beach Junior Tour stopped in Rochester, N.Y. on June 24 for the Great Lakes Open.
The tournament was broken down into eight age divisions: Boys’ 18 and under (18U), Boys’ 16U, Boys’ 14U, Boys’ 12U, Girls’ 18U, Girls’ 16U, Girls’ 14U and Girls’ 12U.
The Boys 18U age division was won by AJ Logosh and Steve O’Dell (Rochester, N.Y.). They defeated Trey Comorelli and Billy Pinter (Buffalo, N.Y.) in the championship match. Third place went to Nick Bills and Steve Lindberg (Rochester, N.Y.).
In the Boys’ 16U age division, third place went to Nick Denoncourt and Mitch Kennedy (Rochester, N.Y.). Second place went to Brannon Perdicho and Chandler Mattenson (Rochester, N.Y.), who lost to Ethan Dangler and Anthony Bonilla (Penfield, N.Y.) in the finals.
Stefan Nickol and Mike Voekyl (Brighton, N.Y.) took first place in the Boys’ 14U age division. They defeated Jeff Cardot and Steve Zarczyki (Henrietta, N.Y.) in the championship match. Third place went to Konnor Oakes and Jack Scheutzow (Rochester, N.Y.).
In the Boys’ 12U age division, Owen Wickens and Jordan Hildreth (Rochester, N.Y.) took first place.
On the girls’ side of the tournament, Lainy Pierce and Alex Brown (Buffalo, N.Y.) took first place in the Girls’ 18U age division. Second place went to Lauren Mulvehill and Jessica Long (Webster, N.Y.), while Paige Iozuir and Jessie Shaffner (Buffalo, N.Y.) took third.
In the Girls’ 16U age division, Stephanie Bogda and Jacqueline LaForgia (Long Island, N.Y.) claimed first place. Rebecca Gainsburg and Terese Cannon (Pittsford, N.Y.) claimed second-place accolades. Third place went to Tessa Ooyama and Lydia Ooyama (Fairport, N.Y.).
Emily Harnischfeger and Jessica Giannocarro (Rochester, N.Y.) claimed third place in the Girls’ 14U age division. In the championship match, Sarah Blowers and Savanah Bothner (Pittsford, N.Y.) defeated Rebecca Hay and Jamie Rogers (Rochester, N.Y.) to claim first place.
The Girls’ 12U age division was won by Mackenzie Cole and Cassandra Patsos (Long Island, N.Y.). They defeated Lauren Burke and Selene Zhang (Webster, N.Y.) in the finals.
