2014 RWC 4v4 Indoor Tournament - by: KrahmeTrain

Here is a great opportunity for some quality indoor ball with a beach format. Tournament will be held Saturday April 4th at 10am at the Voller Athletic Center on the campus of Roberts Wesleyan College.

Teams can be a mix of men/women, but there is no gender specific rule. Net will be at menâ€™s height. Captains meeting will cover all rules of the tournament. Every team guaranteed one playoff match. Doors will open at 9:15 am for warm-up.

Cost: $80 per team. Includes tournament entry fee, 4 hot dogs, 4 bottles of water. All proceeds go to support Roberts Women's Volleyball. Concessions also available. Tournament is limited to participants 18 years of age or older.

Prizes: Championship shirts will be awarded to the winners of the Gold/Silver brackets. Gold Champions win back entry fee (Minimum of 8 teams signed up).

Register: Email rosters with first and last names of each player to [email protected] by April 4, 2014. Or post rosters with first and last names to the Facebook event's comments.

The 212 Showdown @ the BNCC on April 17th still has a few spots available.

1. CoEd "B" division (4 men, 2 women). This division has no age requirements.

2. Over 212 division. Your total team age must be equal to or greater than 212 years. This division has no requirements for men or women.

It will be $150/team, which is $25/player. This includes free beer, pizza, and wings after for all participating players at IV Stallions. The tournament champions will also receive T-shirts

Coach Jehlen is entering her 11th season at MCC and is a two-time regional Coach of the Year. She led the Tribunes to a Region III title and the team's first NJCAA national tournament appearance in 2006. Jehlen played at the University of Pittsburgh on a full scholarship as both a defensive specialist and as a setter. Jehlen has previously coached with the Primo Volleyball Club and more recently with the VolleyFX Club. She also teaches at MCC

YOUTH SUMMER VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE!!!!!! - by: coachpass

Hey everyone,
There will be a youth summer league this year in Rochester!!! This is not a club, but a league similar to house soccer for ages 7-15. The league is run through the United States Youth Volleyball League ( www.usyvl.org ). Start spreading the word. We are in the process of getting approval from districts to distribute flyers in the schools. All information and registration can be found on the website.

Like any house league, this is a volunteer organization. This means that people need to volunteer to coach these teams. The league has a strict curriculum that coaches must follow and each coach will be trained by our local coaching director on how to teach the skills to players at the different levels.

Here is another opportunity for anyone 18 & over to play. There is no gender restrictions or roster restrictions, just know it will be on a men's height net. Everyone guaranteed 4 matches, 3 in pool play and at least 1 playoff match. Gold/Silver brackets made after pool-play.

RIT SportsZone is sponsoring a recreational volleyball league that is being held near Lovin' Cup in the Park Point development at RIT. This is a 12 team league with games being played on grass. $350 per team, there are some great prizes available! Games Wednesday evenings starting June 24 and running through August. The playoffs with be held August 29th and there will be a festival/party for all participants. Drink specials at Lovin' Cup and TC Riley's every game night.
