Rush beats mcquaid in 4. Very good play from rush and just shockingly bad play from mcquaid.

McQ looked very sloppy. Their blocks were bad and the defense wasn't there. Need to pick it up before sectionals.
I will be at the Penfield JV tournament hoping to see the re-match. If Mahar and Witter take it to Mydosh and the other big hitters on victor it should be a very good match.

I've always believed, any day, anytime, any team can beat another....even the best!! This year, McQ is the best but on any given day or night, anything can happen! Congrats RH!

I would say McQ is still #1 as well but with a full Victor squad it would be a toss up... This I think is just going to fuel McQ and in the long run help them become a better team come sectionals. They will go into practice tomorrow and Dr. Parks will work his magic and make them even more dangerous! Congrats to RH what an amazing win with sectionals coming up and what a confidence builder! Coach B im sure watched his videos a thousand times and it paid off! Cant wait for sectionals this year will be one of the most competitive years in a long time.

I agree with you about Victor. They are a very deep squad and if they get there full roster they could dethrone McQ as RH did but we will have to wait and see.

Having seen McQ play several times at a couple games and tourneys I don't think he-ODell should be removed as setter. I think if they were struggling tonight, then put him at outside and have the other setter try it. But you take away too much leadership if you remove someone like ODell from the setter spot. That is just my opinion. Yeah try it if they are struggling but otherwise keep it the same. It's probably good to get that loss out of the way! Way to go RH!!

I am sure McQuaid is serious about winning. It was an awful game for them but it was against a top team in Section V. If everyone on a team has an off night serving and passing, it is very hard to win.

Everyone keeps talking about whats wrong with McQuaid, and no one is talking about what a great job that Rush must have done. A team can only play who is in front of them, and whether or not McQuaid played lousy, Rush had something to do with that and took advantage. Congratulations to Joe and Rush for a big victory. Looking forward to sectionals as this year seems wide open with anyone capable of winning on any given night.

"Rich parents". That is a hoot (and a tired old excuse whenever a school has a good team with club members)! Many parents decide to buy a new car, refurbish their home,and/or save more for retirement instead of paying for their son to play club. It is just a choice that is made. And of course the son has to want to play club as well.
Back to the game - if Rush had served better in the first set, It might have been a sweep! Let's hope RH and McQuaid meet in the sectionals. Should be good action.

I wasn't at the game so I don't know first hand how it played out, but I'm pretty sure I have the low down by now. Rush was home hosting McQ for their biggest home match of the year, and a rematch of their tight match played at McQuaid earlier in the season. McQuaid was in coast mode having only lost once in the final of the Eden tournament and expecting to win as always. Rush stepped up and outplayed McQuaid. The better team won last night, this is what makes sports so great. I'm sure last night will re-energize McQuaid, maybe just what they need with Sectionals creeping up on us. Rush having been bounced by McQuaid last Sectionals, and having lost to them for a third straight time at the Penfield Tournament, gives them the confidence they need going into Sectionals knowing that if they come together as one cohesive unit, they can beat anybody that steps up to them.
are123....although very outspoken and brash, does suggest sound valid coaching moves. I would bet that he IS a coach, not some HS kid.
